Dungeness is one of my favourite places in England. It’s not exactly what you would call a summer getaway. Its main attraction is two huge power stations but it also has a beautiful lighthouse which first opened in 1904.
It’s often referred to as Englands only Desert although technically speaking.. it’s a huge shingle beach owned by the energy company EDF.
I also knew I was going to desaturate the images during post-production, I just feel like black and white suits the atmosphere of Dungeness better..
While exploring Canterbury for the first time I began noticing the intricacies. I was drawn to photographing the lines making up this cathedral city.
One of my aims this year is to see as much of the UK as possible. I’m aiming to explore somewhere new every month. First up was Canterbury, Kent. I chose Canterbury as a lot of my friends who live in Kent spend a lot of time here so I decided to see what all the fuss was about..
Despite being a freezing winter day the city was buzzing with shoppers and a few tourists. The walled city houses a beautiful cathedral and a couple of riverside walks. It has an eclectic mix of shops and some tasty (and some not so) restaurants and cafes. I would definitely recommend a day trip if you visit Kent (aptly known as the garden of England).
