This week I shot a roll of Monsoon 35mm film. The aim of this film is to create saturated blue tones replicating the feel of post-monsoon rain…
Overall i’m not sure how I feel about this 35mm film, I really like the blue tones but the images look really soft which is not normally the effect I go for. But I think it’s only fair to try it out in a different environment so next week I’m going to head to the seven sisters to photograph landscapes.
This afternoon I visited another strong week of photography at Free Range in Shoreditch, East London. The work on show from the Graduates featured strong portraits, experimental installations and some brilliant DIY photo books. Here are my favourites from week 2..

Free Range is a great opportunity for U.K. photography and design graduates. It’s on every year and one to visit.
After experimenting with soaking 35mm films in vodka I wanted to try washing-up liquid. A selection of images from London can be viewed on Bored Panda and the rest are below:
Next on my exploration list was Newhaven Nature Reserve. The reserve itself was calm and beautiful despite being in such an industrial area. But it was behind the nature reserve that I found the site I wanted to focus my photography on for the day. An abandoned construction site. This included an unfinished roundabout with 3 roads leading nowhere and an old shopping trolley..
Since moving to Seaford I have been trying to explore the local area as much as possible before moving up to London. First on my tick list was Friston Forest, to get there it’s a beautiful 1 hour walk over the south downs.
The forest was quiet and offered plenty of shade to have a picnic and create some high contrast photographs.
In July, at the age of 20, I finished university after studying photography for the last 3 years. Today I had the chance to visit the site that acted as the background for the project that sparked my passion for the experimental nature of photography. Back in 2013 I chose Tide Mills,East Sussex, as the location for the last photography project I would undertake at 6th form college, where I first studied photography. Here are a mixture of photos from today and my fire project:
